QUETTA: Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti, grandson of the late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, and his 15 security guards were acquitted of charges of smuggling weapons on Thursday by an additional district and sessions judge.
Nuroz Hoath, the judge, ordered release of the accused who had been arrested by Frontier Corps personnel at Belili checkpoint on Dec 22, 2010, on charges of smuggling illegal weapons from Afghanistan. The FC had also said that it had seized a large quantity of weapons.
The court said the prosecution had failed to present concrete evidence in support of the allegations and acquitted all the accused.
Talking to reporters after the decision, Shahzain Bugti said he would decide about taking part in the general election after consulting the elders of his tribe.
He said that FC had implicated him and his 15 guards in a fake case, but had failed to prove the allegations.

Justice at its lowest point.
Now , this is something killing Pakistan.. the so called Judiciary .. Not enough evidence.. !! Shameful .. even in the courts, the weak n poor r proven guilty even with this NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE bt the terrorists r released honourably ..
and in this way; i believe, the courts r equally responsible for the killing of 1000s of Pakistanis..
Long Live Biased Judicial Activism
His admission to smuggling is on youtube. His interogation with FC clearly is a proof by itself. How come the judge let him go.
How can we trust these lower court judges.
This guy is on the tape admitting smugling explosive from Afghanistan to kill Pakistanis here. It was all over TV.
Shameful judges!!! Who have not hanged a single terrorist when over 100.000 pakistanis are dead and wounded!!
Money talks and the judge drives a new Lexus.
That tape was fake and creation of your intelegance brigade cleverly identified by judge.
