ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, on the advice of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, on Saturday appointed Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), as judge of the Supreme Court, and Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi as Chief Justice of the IHC.

Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts, after receiving the nominations from the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, had unanimously agreed with the nomination and requested the prime minister to advise the president for the said appointments.
