LAHORE: Chief of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif expressed doubts on Sunday over the authenticity of the rift between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and said that the installation of the caretaker set up would let the cat out of the bag, DawnNews reported.
Speaking to media persons at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of one of his party members, Nawaz said that the MQM's decision to move into the opposition after serving four years and 11 months in power was beyond his comprehension.
The PML-N chief further said that his party had voted in favor of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nominated prime minister not because of any love lost for the PPP but only in the interest of strengthening the system.
He declined to comment when questioned over the possibility of an alliance between the PML-N and the MQM.
