TIMERGARA, March 2: Two groups of the People Students Federation (PSF), Lower Dir chapter, scuffled with each other during a party function where provincial Minister for Technical Education Mehmood Zeb Khan was also present.

One of the students’ leaders Najibullah was injured in the fight who told Timergara police in his application that he was attacked by workers of the other group.Later, the group led by Najibullah along with divisional president Shahab Utmani, Mohammad Naeem, Hazrat Suleman and Sajid Khan while speaking at a news conference at Timergara Press Club accused the PSF leader Alam Zeb and his associates of attacking them during the minister’s function.

They said Alam Zeb group had been blackmailing ministers and spreading propaganda against the PPP leaders. They termed the attack on PSF workers as terrorism and demanded of the PPP to suspend their membership. They also demanded of police to arrest them immediately.

Meanwhile, the rival group rejected the allegations and said the organisation had already suspended membership of workers from the other group.

The PSF district president Fazal Hussain, general secretary Imran Shiekh, Timergara college president Amjad Hussain and others told reporters all allegations leveled against Alam Zeb Khan were baseless. They also demanded of the PPP leadership to avoid the group led by Shahab Utmani.—Correspondent
