KOHAT, March 3: The female staff of the health department has refused to perform duties in urban area number six due to security reasons during the anti-polio drive, it has been learnt.

The female health department staff confided to Dawn on condition of anonymity that the local people made announcements in the loudspeakers not to allow the entry of the female staff into their houses during the anti-polio campaign, which caused fear among them.

Therefore, they had decided not to take part in the polio immunisation campaign, said the health workers.—Correspondent
