QUETTA: Awami National Party's (ANP) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Balochistan Malik Sultan Tareen was abducted by unknown gunmen on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

The MPA was on his way from Quetta to Harnai when his car was stopped by gunmen near Kuchlak. The abductors subjected the guard of Sultan Tareen to torture and left him behind while fleeing away with their target.

Malik Sultan Tareen was elected as an MPA from PB22- Harnai/Sibi constituency on the ticket of the ANP.

He served as the provincial minister of prisons until the imposition og governor's rule in Balochistan.
