LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif declared the Badami Bagh incident as “the worst example of barbarism” and that those involved in the incident shall not be forgiven, DawnNews reported.
A meeting headed by CM Sharif was held at the Chief Minister House during which the situation in Lahore after the incident was discussed and the restoration works were reviewed.
The chief minister said that the burning of houses of the Christian community was not a service to Pakistan or Islam.
He further said that the Christian community was mistreated and the burning their houses in Badami Bagh’s Joseph Colony after the arrest of the suspect was unjustified.
The episode had spoiled Pakistan’s image in the international community, he added.
Moreover, the Punjab chief minister said that those involved in the incident were being apprehended and would be handed exemplary punishments.
Furthermore, CM Sharif also said that those affected by the Badami Bagh incident would be compensated at all costs.

Barbaric is right. Those poor people must have lost everything thanks to these animals. I am ashamed to be a Muslim in Pakistan.
The best thing that the government of Pakistan can do is built brand new homes for these communities to show their support for minorities and teach a lesson to the bigots that their deeds will backfire if they do it again. Thank God that nobody got killed this time, thanks to the people who organized to vacate their “own” home in fear of attack..
Mob justice! When our government fails, when our police is corrupt and people are on the edge; they just need an excuse. Shame on you Zardari! For the world now sees us as a country that does not tolerate minorities like we didn’t have enough on our list.
the incident is very crucial,,,,
The residents of the Joseph Colony were smarter than the administration of Lahore. After the initial incidence on Friday the residents of the Colony vacated their houses in fear of something might happen on Saturday. But Lahore administration and Police does not have the vision they did not prepare in advance to stop this ugly incidence to take place. Shame on Police hierarchy of Lahore on their failure to prevent this incidence to happen.
‘Islamic country’ ‘Land of the pure’. Ask the Medrassahs to teach our young – that our gods alone are true, all else are bad and should be destroyed – well what else is expected.
Mr. CM what is your measuring tool for compensating the ruthless tregedy took place. Suspending the DIG, IG, SHOs or what? this is the max you can do or if to gain political benifit an amount will be quoted for the “HOMES” of minorities! Shame! i must say. Who are you to place the value of the homes built with love and hardwork of the people who got disturbed. how will you be compensating the insecurity they have mentally sufered? IF and ONLY IF you want to compensate then put your ownself to TRIAL! in front of these people. Alas, that is impossible for you to do!.
