KARACHI, March 10: The two-day qualifying round of the inaugural DHA Karachi international squash championship commenced at the Asif Nawaz squash complex on Sunday.

According to the organisers, 16 players – top four of pre qualifiers have joined 12 in the qualifying round.

Another four players will advance to the main round which will have a draw of 16. The main round begins from Tuesday. Results: First qualifying round: Syed Hamza Bukhari (Pak) bt Ahmed Amin (Pak) 11-4, 11-6, 11-6; Ammad Farid (Punjab) bt Ismail Rauf (Pak) 11-5, 11-4, 11-5; Nosherwan Khan (Pak) bt Naqash Shahid (Pak) 11-9, 11-7, 11-8; Mohammad Shoaib Hassan (Pak) bt Mohammad Naeem (Pak) 11-3, 11-5, 11-6; Zahir Shah (Pak) bt Mohammad Yasir Khan (Pak) 11-4, 11-2, 11-6; Abbas Maniar (Pak) bt Attaullah Shah (Pak) 11-7, 11-1, 11-2; Mahad Javed (Pak) bt Suleman Khan (Pak) 11-5, 11-9, 11-7; Tayyab Aslam (Pak) bt Ali Nasir (Pak) 11-3, 11-7, 11-4.

Monday’s fixtures: Second qualifying round starts at 12noon.
