KARACHI: Sindh’s ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the opposition Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) agreed on Tuesday over the nomination of Justice (retd) Zahid Qurban Alvi as the caretaker chief minister of the province, State TV reported.

It was expected that the Sindh Assembly would be dissolved later tonight after Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah sends a summary to Governor Ishratul Ibad for his approval.

Justice (retd) Zahid Qurban Alvi, who sources say has been agreed upon as the consensus-man for provincial caretaker chief minister, is expected to take oath as caretaker chief minister tomorrow.

Sources added that the two parties came to the decision after holding prolonged talks and discussing several names forwarded by various parties.
