Sindh lecturers boycott academic activities to protest professor's killing

KARACHI: Lecturers across Sindh were boycotting all academic activities on Tuesday to protest the killing of Professor Sibt-e-Jafar Zaidi.

Earlier on Monday, the Sindh Professors’ and Lecturers’ Association (SPLA) had lashed out at the Sindh government and announced boycott of all academic activities on Tuesday across Sindh to protest the professor’s killing.

The Shia Ulema Council and Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) was also observing a three-day-long period of mourning to protest the professor's killing, which came as a shock to the Shia community.

Zaidi was gunned down on Monday in Karachi's Liaquatabad area in what is being widely viewed as a sectarian attack on the college principal and campaigner of sectarian harmony.

His funeral will be held after Zuhr today at the Amroha ground in Karachi’s Ancholi neighbourhood.

Shia's make up just 5% of the Pakistani population (although they claim that they are 15%).The only way we can end terrorism in Pakistan is to strip the Shias of their citizenship and to deport every single one of them, in one large exodus, to Iran. However, if a Shia, by his own choice, wishes to return to Islam, he can remain a citizen of Pakistan and stay. There is no other solution to the Shia problem confronting Pakistanis.

So in your view, only people who return to islam (the way you define it) can live in this country? Who's Sunnah is this? because, in our Prophet's time people of all religion and believes were allowed to live in peace. Please educate yourself, these views are hurting islam. Allah-Ho-Akbar, once the slogan of peace and justice, is now viewed as sologan of crazy

And what about the Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and others of different faiths? Do we push them out too, or force them to become Muslims? You illiturate person, is this how our Prophet (PBUH) behaved with people of other faith? Are you really a Muslim, considering you are going against everything the Prophet (PBHU) taught? Your views make you a Munafiq, who are muslims on the outside but are treacherous inside and ememy of the Prophet (PBUH). It is you and people like you who should be removed from the land of Islam.
