QUETTA: An explosion on Fridaynear a crowded intersection in Dera Allahyar town of Balochistan's Jaffarabad district killed eight persons including two children and injured at least 32 others.

The bomb appeared to have been planted in a rickshaw parked at the roadside, according to initial police reports which added that around a dozen shops were damaged in the vicinity.

Emergency and rescue teams reached the site of incident and expressed fears of an increase in the casualty numbers.

All victims were shifted to the District Head Quarters Hospital Dera Allahyar.

" Eight persons including two children have died in the incident wheras 32 others werer wounded", Dr Muhammad Saleem Deputy Medical Superintendent at the hospital told reporters.
