When I cam to Pakistan, I took a taxi home-now no one said a word. At the airport, they just checked my passport and did not even welcomed me home.

PMLN and its leaders live in fools paradise. Shareef brothers must be thankful to Musharraf for letting them back in Pakistan in the higher interest of the nation, reconciliation and harmony between parties and most importantly to start a fresh democratic process in Pakistan. The problem is the lack of true leadership, arrogance and sincerity in PMLN leaders. They are nothing but raised agents of right wing religious extremists in my opinion. They are simply lucky to be back in power 3rd time due to extra judicial help and support, just because they managed to reinstate CJ and his buddy justices through mob politics. They are also lucky that they are not chased by the current judiciary for corruption and other illegal activities as it did with recent Zardari government. It is unfortunate that majority of our masses is illiterate and brain washed by right wing religious extremists and their media and they can not differentiate between thugs and the leaders. If they did they must have known that their hero (Zia) was also in uniform, he declared emergency, violated constitution and democratic/civil norms and gave Pakistan nothing but extremism/terrorism, but since he served the interests of right extremists, he was made hero. When it came to Musharraf, they became bias for many reasons like, he was not born in the land of pure, he did not speak Punjabi and his last name was not waraich, chaudhry or khan. What if Mr. Musharraf have served the interests of religious extremists too, like Zia did? Would not he be their hero and ruling now? Although I do not like Musharraf as much I used to, because of a personal and unbelievable experience with him and some of his cronies in Pakistan and Dubai, but I will not be fair with him, if I discard his loyalty and services to our nation. He is the only one in my opinion, who can save Pakistan but for that he should keep away from appeasers/misleaders who are not only hurting his new born party but also his loyal party members/friends leaving him almost every day because of his cronies. zafarsyed40@yahoo.com

Musharraf is still eyes of educated Pakistan nation and he did not steal nation's money and filled overseas accounts. There is a reason for God to create hell fire and am sure Inshallah these corrupt will be used with severe punishment.

If you see the video of his arrival at the airport, there were no one to receive him, other then the couple of hundred of his paid supporters. These useless leaders must realize that the Pakistan have changed now

Exactly the response I expected from PMLN. They don't remember that when Musharraf took the control of the country, people were dancing on the streets and distributing sweets. I am not sure who will be in power but I just hope, for the sake of the country, it is not PPP or PMLN, as we have seen enough of these two parties.

Couldn't agree more. Musharraf did make a lot of genuine mistakes BUT economy was never as strong as during his days. Having been involved in the finance industry for over 20 years I had never seen Pakistan being mentioned as "the choice investment country". Shame it didn't last as long as it should have.

Lets forget about the whole list that you mentioned, personally do you feel he is good for the country. i think opinion of people on the ground is much different than the once commenting.

It is saddening to see the quality of english written in this paper which claims to be Pakistan's leading english daily. Even a matric student can manage better grammar than this.

If this writer is in fact a teacher, then God save this country. Is this how a teacher expresses? Sentences with no verbs? In the eleven lines there are about half a dozen spelling errors. Sir/Madam, Turkey is a country and not a language, I hope you are not an English language teacher. Hopefully you have more proficiency in the subject you teach than the language you express yourself in. Nothing personal!

A teacher? Must be a teacher of poor English! Nothing personal. Turkey is a country not a language. Sentences have to have verbs. Words should be spelled correctly. It is not embarrassing to use dictionary to check spellings. With word processors you just turn on the spell check, and the job is done. Nothing personal. When I was in St. Patrick's High School, in the fifties, the teachers always insisted upon reading and re-reading what the students have written. It is a good practice to catch one's own mistakes.

All major problems facing my country today are the result of Musharraf's doings. Did'nt he sell this land on one call from Colin Powel? What he did to the judiciary will remain a black spot on the country's history. He ruled because he had the power of the army behind him; he was never a leader. He blows his own trumpet but his speeches/interviews betrays his hollowness of vision. His final abode is Dubai.

Oh yes Pakistan is changed alright, for the worse right? People of Pakistan feel much safer now that they get killed almost every day. They don't have to worry about food as there is a shortage of it so why worry, Off course they are also able to have quality time with their families since there is a great effort from the government to make sure that there is little or no energy and lack of job availability to go out of one's house to work. Thanks to the PPP and PMLN for making sure that we have the above conditions and the opposite as what Musharraf had when he was in power. I will take such democracy over a dictator any day where I am feeling for my life and honor, no food, no job and off course no recourse to lodge any of my issues with the thugs running or have been running the country. All I can say is SHAME ON YOU.

First Mian Nawaz Sharrif came back from London, then mohtarma Benazir Bhutto came back from London, then Imran Khan decided to stay away from London for a while, then Tahir ul Qadri sahib came back from Toronto and now Musharraf is back from London. Easiest solution would be to move our parliament and senate to London.

Dear Richard, I am saddened too, but not because a Pakistani who is born and raised in Pakistan can't write in proper English, but because of block minded people like you, who by name seems English by birth, is ignorant and does not want to understand that there is no shame in trying to communicate in English language which happened to be internationally used language due to English expansionism/rule in the world. In my opinion the commentator (teacher) who made some mistakes in writing English is not only more educated and qualified than you but also he knows more than one language. By the way how many languages except body language do you know? Come out of your well and think about what is important for a reader, the content of a writing or the poor language in which the opinion is written. What if a person like you could write in Shakespearian style English but does not know how and what makes sense? Open up your mind, start respecting/learning others language, their point of view and stop imposing new form of colonialism on others. Can you write few lines in Urdu, Hindi, Arabic etc correctly, if not why not? Just for your information, I disagree from teacher's point of view but not because of his poor English. Please read my comments. I hope you understand my point view and do not make it an ego issue. Understanding another's point of view is sure proof of your open mind. Take it easy please.

Gen Musharraf is lucky that he is alive and free.I do not think either Pakistani Taliban or other radical Islamic groups including Alqueda view him favorably and for Americans it is a mistary that he did not know about obl living under his nose in abbotabad.so he should stop pretending he is a champion of Democracy as we all know he dismantled it.
