QUETTA, March 24: The PML-N’s provincial president, Sanaullah Khan Zehri, has said that retired Gen Pervez Musharraf should be arrested in the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Mr Zehri said Gen Musharraf’s name should be put on the exit control list so that the former military ruler might not flee the country to avoid the court cases pending against him.

He said the killing of Mr Bugti and the military operation at Lal Masjid were heinous crimes that were committed by the Musharraf regime. Therefore, Gen Musharraf should be brought to justice.

Mr Zehri praised the decision by the Election Commission of Pakistan to select retired Justice Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as the country’s caretaker prime minister. He expressed the hope that Mr Khoso would ensure free, fair and timely elections.

He promised that party tickets for the general elections would be awarded on merit.

On the occasion, a former advocate general of Balochistan, Salahuddin Mengal, and tribal elders Ali Mohammad Qamrani and Mohammad Khaliq Mohammadhasni, from Kharan and Washak areas, announced their decision to join the PML-N.
