QUETTA: The nomination papers of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fzal (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and Talal Bugti of the Jamhoori Watan Party were accepted on Saturday subject to the verification of their particulars by the Higher Education Commission, Federal Board of Revenue and the State Bank on Sunday.

The nomination papers of Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of the JUI-F, senior lawyer Ali Ahmed Kurd, Nizamuddin, Qayyum Agha, Mehmoodul Hasan, Abdul Raheem Mandokhel, Sardar Najib Zehri and Mir Zirik Zehri were also accepted conditionally.

Official sources said that scrutiny of the nomination papers of other candidates for two National Assembly seats from Quetta and Kalat-Mastung was completed.

The papers of former federal minister Sardar Omar Gorgaij were accepted, but he was asked to clear dues of the parliament lodges in Islamabad and submit a verification report issued by the HEC.

Papers of Obaidullah Baloch of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Mohammad Ashraf Azad of the PML-N, Mohammad Arif and Riaz Ahmed were rejected, but those of Rehmat Ali Baloch of the National Party, Haji Akbar Baloch, Mir Asad Baloch, Ghulam Jan and Molvi Abdul Hamid were accepted conditionally.
