Four killed in Karachi; Rangers conduct operations

KARACHI: At least four people were killed in different incidents of violence in the city, whereas 33 people were detained in a targeted operation led by Rangers and police personnel in Sherpao Colony, Patel Para and Jehangir Road Baloch Para, DawnNews reported on Tuesday.

One man was gunned down in Karachi’s Orangi Town Bukhari Colony.

Separately, two dead bodies were found near Nagan Chowrangi and Malir Checkpost No 5. Both of the deceased had been killed after being abducted.

On the other hand, police personnel along with women officers conducted a targeted operation in Patel Para and Jehangir Road Baloch Para and took 33 suspects into custody. The raids were conducted in homes belonging to people of different political parties.

The SSP of Jamshed Town said that the police operation was conducted to establish their writ in the area.

Moreover, rangers also conducted a search operation in Landhi’s Sherpao colony. Several suspects, including some belonging to banned groups, were detained during the operation.

Additionally, caches of weapons were recovered during the raids.
