Tickets for the final edition of the ICC Champions Trophy have gone on sale and there are no prizes for guessing the most anticipated battle of the tournament: Pakistan v India, June 15.

According to the ICC, demand for tickets for the Champions Trophy has been exceptionally high, with tickets selling quickly following the official release of further tickets in a planned second phase of sales.

“We've been staggered by the interest shown by today's ticket sales,” said Tournament Director Steve Elworthy, adding: “The allocation of tickets for India v Pakistan sold out in under thirty minutes, with tickets released for other matches, including the final, also selling-out. We'd like to thank everyone who attempted to buy tickets for these games and sympathise with those who were unsuccessful but owing to the high demand, the tickets that were released today sold very quickly.

“This just goes to show the growing excitement and real passion cricket fans have for this tournament, one in which they will have the chance to see live the world's top 50-over cricketers playing in England and Wales this June.”

Additional tickets for all 15 matches, including coveted games such as India v Pakistan, England v Australia and the final went on sale this morning via the official ICC ticket website.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2013, featuring Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies, will be played across three world-class venues - Cardiff Wales Stadium, Edgbaston and The Oval - over 18 days from 6-23 June.
