Militants fire mortar bombs in Peshawar's Hayatabad area

PESHAWAR: Militants fired five mortar bombs from the Khyuber tribal region into Hayatabad Phase 6 area of Peshawar injuring seven persons on Tuesday.

Police officials talking to Dawn.com confirmed that seven persons including a woman were injured in the explosions.

Two of the mortars fell near houses and two landed in a empty plot. Nearby houses in the vicinity sustained damages and the windows of several houses were left shattered as a result of the blasts.

One mortar hit a vehicle injuring a woman whereas six others pedestrians were also injured.

All wounded were shifted to the Hayatabad Medical Complex for basic medical treatment where the condition of all injured was reported as out of danger.
