KARACHI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) want to solve the problems affecting the people of Pakistan, thus there is a close resemblance in their manifestos, said MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar.

Addressing a press conference along with PML-Q leader Mushahid Hussain at Nine Zero on Sunday, Dr Sattar said an important role is played by the MQM during elections and in the post-election scenario of Pakistan.

He said the caretaker government and law enforcement agencies should take steps to give the people a sense of security so that the elections can be held in a peaceful atmosphere.

He said the ties between MQM and PML-Q are close, fraternal and exemplary.

Mushahid Hussain said on the occasion that everybody knows where the hideouts of criminals are in Karachi and how law enforcement pretends that they do not know anything about it.

He said there is a necessity to get the code of conduct fully implemented during the coming general elections. He said no party alone could solve the problems of the people.

He said both the PML-Q and MQM think along the same lines about solving problems affecting the public.
