KARACHI: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim’s laptop has been stolen from an office in Karachi, DawnNews reported.
Sources said that important data was stored on the CEC’s personal laptop when it was stolen. Sources have said that important documents were also missing from the office after the break-in.
There are conflicting reports as to whether or not the laptop belonged to Fakhruddin G Ebrahim.
Police officials have said that the stolen laptop did not belong to Ebrahim.
SP Clifton Sarfraz Nawaz said the laptop had nothing to do with the election commission.
However, the caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib have taken notice of the robbery and demanded a report from the IG Sindh.
Muttahida Quami Movement chief Altaf Hussain has expressed concern over the robbery and has called for an investigation into the matter.
