Anwar Maqsood and Qazi Wajid remember Moin Akhtar

It has been two years since Pakistan lost Moin Akhtar and yet he is remembered by thousands who only met him through the flickering screens of their television sets for over three decades.

A great comedian as well as a talented actor, Akhtar is perhaps best remembered for his roles in Half Plate, Aangan Terha, Rozy, Loose Talk and Fifty Fifty.

Moin, for me you were the best Pakistan had to offer. I hope your monument/statue will stand proudly one day, at a busy street junction or in a park or gardens so that our coming generations learn of you and search for your work on DVDs, youtube, etc.

Yes, I remember Moin as he was my cousins friend. I used to see him when he was doing jokes here n there. Then he started doing his part at wedding functions and gradually started getting popular. But it was PTV where he really got the fame. His acting was classic. Jokes were great. He excelled in hosting. He was an actor/ performer where nobody can match him. The gap cannot be filled. He was a legend.

We need to make a school for actors and name it after Moin Akhtar. Should have scholarships to the needy but talented actor/actresses. By this action we will start paying back to Moin all he has done for us.

Great Actor and human-being. His name will be remembered on the earth and heavens. Not all actors are so humble and down to earth like him. He was an all-rounder. Acting was so hilarious, that no one can ever or will be his substitute. Can' t believe somebody has stripped the flower from its roots?
