QUETTA: Militants targeted the vehicle of Central Secretary General Balochistan National Party (Awami), Asadullah Baloch in Panjgoor town of Balochistan on Monday, levies said.

Levies sources told Dawn.com militants had planted a remote controlled bomb on the road side in Khudaban area of Panjgoor.

The source said that a huge blast occurred when the convoy of Asad Baloch, who is a former provincial minister, reached Khudaban.

Levies said Asad Baloch was unharmed during the attack. However, Asad Baloch’s vehicle was damaged.

This incident has come one day after militants targeted a public gathering of the National Party, a Baloch nationalist political group in Turbat town of Balochistan. There was no loss of life.

In another incident, armed gunmen killed a sub-engineer of communication and works department in Panjgoor.

Police said armed gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the vehicle of Abdul Qadeer Baloch. The police said Qadeer Baloch died on the spot.

Meanwhile in Dalbandin, gunmen shot dead an inspector of an intelligence agency. Police say it was an incident of targeted killing.

Two gunmen on motorcycle fired on the inspector when he was coming out of a mosque.
