QUETTA: Militants lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of National Party candidate for PB 49 Muhammad Azeem Jan Buledi in Buleda area of Turbat.

According to Levies sources, unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at the house of the NP candidate and managed to escape from the spot.  No loss of life was reported, however the blast damaged the wall of the house.

In another incident, armed men hurled a grenade at the National Party election office in Sariab road area of Quetta on Friday night.

Deputy Inspector General Police Fayyaz Sumbal, told Dawn.com that two men riding on a motorcycle hurled the hand grenade at the NP office. He said there was no loss of life. Sumbal said the blast damaged the election office. The attackers managed to escape from the spot.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of NP strongly condemned both incidents.

He said the Buleda incident was against tribal traditions which bar anyone from targeting women and children.
