HYDERABAD: A police head constable and a pedestrian received bullet injuries after a police checkpost of Tando Yusuf police station was attacked on Monday night by unidentified gunmen.

The policeman, identified as Khair Mohammad and a pedestrian Ali Hassan Zaunr, were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital branch.

The attackers fled away, according SHO Tahir Khanzada. Hyderabad has been in the grip of violence since Sunday night.

An ice cream shopowner, Rehmanullah and his employee Imtiaz Ali were attacked by gunmen in Qasimabad.

Rehmanullah succumbed to his injuries in LUH Sunday night while Imtiaz breathed his last today.

A child was also injured in a cracker explosion hurled by miscreants at a hotel located on Autobhan Road.

The violence erupted after two bullet riddled bodies of activists of banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) were found in Khairpur Nathan Shah of Dadu district Sunday morning.

The JSMM gave a strike call for Monday which was only partially observed in Hyderabad.

Two separate incidents of violence took place in the area of Bhittai Nagar police station in which a cook of a hotel was injured.

A bus also came under attack on Hyderabad bypass resulting in three people being injured, including a minor girl.
