KARACHI: The caretaker government of Sindh is all set to hold an ‘all-parties conference’ on Tuesday to discuss issues relating to security and implementation of a code of conduct for the general elections.

Twenty-one political parties and three foreign observers are likely to attend the moot.

The APC would deliberate upon implementation of the code of conduct and seek input from political leaders for carrying out the election campaign in a peaceful environment and to ensure holding of free, fair and transparent elections in an impartial manner.

Caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Zahid Kurban Alavi will preside over the APC. The meeting will be held in the New Sindh Secretariat at 10.30am.

Parties whose representatives will attend the APC are: The Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, Jamaat-i-Islami, Awami National Party, PML-N, PML-Q, PML-Functional, PPP-Shaheed Bhutto, Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi), Sunni Tehrik, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl), Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Sindh United Party, Majlis Wahadat Muslimeen, Muttahida Deeni Mahaz, All Pakistan Muslim League, Awami Tehreek, Sindh Taraqi-passand Party and Qaumi Tehrik.

The APC would discuss main features of the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding use of loudspeakers, putting up banners, flags on public or private property without permission, size of banners, posters and billboards, etc.
