KARACHI: Omar Al-Kojah from Syria set up a title clash with Afghanistan's Saleh Muhammad after notching-up a marathon 6-5 victory over Aamir Sarkosh of Iran in the second semi-final on Thursday evening.

Earlier in the first semi-final of day, veteran Afghan cueist Saleh Muhammad shocked IBSF World Junior Champion Zhao Xin Tong.

Omar came from 1-3 down to overpower Sarkosh after an intriguing and thrilling tussle.

Despite breaks of 102 and 88, Sarkosh lost after a keen tussle. In the deciding frame, Omar held his nerve to chalk out a 55-42, 69-65, 0-81, 29-59, 18-102, 69-0, 0-88, 80-00, 32-63, 72-22, 53-45) win.

The winner of the championship will take on trophy and a cash purse of $7500 and the runner-up will collect $3500 with losing semifinalists Zhao Xin Tong and Aamir Sarkosh getting $2000 each.
