QUETTA: Armed men kidnapped five levies men in Kalat town of Balochistan on Wednesday, Levies sources said.

Johan Levies station was destroyed in a powerful blast and armed men abducted five personnel in the aftermath of the blast.

They said militants had planted an improvised explosive device near the levies station. The IED blast completely destroyed the station.

Soon after the blast, dozens of armed men not only abducted the levies men, but also took away nearly 500 national identity cards from the residents.

A large number of police, levies and frontier corps personnel reached the spot and have started an investigation into the incident.
