MQM stages protests in Karachi and Hyderabad

KARACHI: Supporters of Altaf Hussain staged a sit-in in Karachi's Aisha Manzil area on Sunday whereas the Muttahida Qaumi Movemenet (MQM) took out a rally in Hyderabad city against remarks made by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, DawnNews reported.

Students of different colleges and universities staged a protest in Karachi's Aisha Manzil area and said that the protests would continue until Imran Khan apologised for his remakrs made against MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Moreover the MQM took out a rally in Hyderabad in favor of the party chief which culminated at the Hyderabad Press club. A larger number of women and students participated in the rally.

Tires were alos burnt in some areas along the route of the rally.

Imran Khan had blamed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for the killing of the senior vice-president of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf’s Sindh chapter, Zahra Shahid Hussain, who was killed outside her DHA Phase IV residence on Saturday.

MQM leader, Altaf Hussain who conveniently sits in London is absolutely wrong to demand that Karachi be declared a separate state. this is treasonous and he deserves to be investigated for his comments and punished and his party MQM be banned forever. The MQMers must start thinking in terms of national government and unity of Pakistan. As regards Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan he has a right to hold his opinion but must refrain from publicly commenting and let the UK Government persecute MQM chief. The MQM students who are rioting must be arrested immediately.

It is time to bring Altaf Hussain to Justice. If no foreigner can be member of the Parliament then on foreigner should be head of the political party. Enough is enough. Army should be called in Karachi and Nesirullah Baber should be asked to supervise cleansing of Karachi of all goons who take orders from a foreign country. Altaf Hussain should not be allowed to deface Pakistan. This the time to take action.

MQM must understand that Karachiites are fed up with living under fear of MQM. It has been part of government since 2002 and the city's law and order and crime situation has gone from bad to worse. What has MQM given to Karachi except misery!!!! I dont want to even mention name of it's leader!!!

It is unfair on the part of Altaf Hussain to sit in London and call shots in Karachi and Hyderabad. Many emtional young men act recklessly on his orders and we all know the consequences. If he is sincere and true as he claims to be, he should come to Pakistan and take part in elections himself. Even Bal Thakarey used to live in India to do indian politics. This long distance leadership should come to an end. Enough is enough.
