LAHORE, May 21: Model Town CIA police claim to have busted a gang of robbers and recovered Rs1 million in cash and gold ornaments besides illegal weapons from their possession.

Model Town CIA DSP Anwar Saeed Kingra said the robbers had shot dead a young citizen, Sheikh Kashif, and injured his brother, Umar, during a house robbery in Sabzazar a couple of years ago.

He said the criminals were identified as ringleader Shahid Khan, Jabran Ali, Amir Rafi and Ashraf.

Lahore DIG (Investigation) Zulfiqar Hameed had constituted a police team, headed by the Model Town CIA DSP, which conducted raids and arrested the criminals.

During interrogation, the criminals confessed to 15 incidents of crime.

The DIG announced a commendatory certificate for the police officials who busted the gang. — Staff Reporter
