Report sought

LAHORE, May 24: The Lahore High Court on Friday took notice of the newspaper report regarding the murder of a woman after alleged rape.

The Lahore district and sessions judge has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments, says a handout .

The woman, a resident of Pajian Chowk, Raiwind, got married four years back and had a baby but due to domestic disputes, her husband divorced her. One day she went out of the house and did not return. Her parents reported to Raiwind City police station about her disappearance but the next day her body was found in nearby fields.

Police said she had been killed after rape and torture.
