KARACHI, May 24: Two children were injured when a firecracker was lobbed into a private school in Orangi Town on Friday, police said.

Orangi Town SP Asad Ali said two men riding a motorcycle threw a firecracker at Firdaus School in Baloch Goth.

He said the school building was spread over an area of 120 square yards with a broken wall from where the cracker was thrown, with the result that six-year-old Fatima and seven-year-old Izhar suffered minor injuries. The SP said the school owner told the police that he had not received threats from extortionists or militants. “It appears that the cracker attack was aimed at spreading fear and panic,” he added.
