KARACHI: Two men were found shot dead in Lyari, police said on Friday.

They said that the body of a young man was found near a mosque in Bihar Colony in the early hours of Friday.

The Chakiwara SHO said that area people informed a rescue service about the body, which was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination.

The identity of the victim could not be established.

In another incident, the bullet-riddled body of a young Hindu man was found along Shah Latif Bhittai Road in the Agra Taj area late on Thursday night.

The Kalri police said that the victim was identified as Ramesh. Quoting his relatives, they said that he had gone to the area to meet some relatives.

The police said that the victim had no affiliation with any group. Several people have been killed in certain parts of Lyari where armed gangs have been clashing with each other following the May 11 general elections.

Most of the victims have been passers-by caught in the crossfire.
