LAHORE: Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who won as an independent candidate in the May 11 polls, on Saturday announced joining Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), DawnNews reported.

The announcement came after a meeting between Jamali and Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence in Raiwind.

Jamali felicitated Sharif on his party’s success in the May 2013 elections and said the issues confronting Balochistan, the province where Jamali hails from, could only be resolved through practical steps as opposed to ‘packages’.

He further told media representatives that he was joining the PML-N without any conditions and of his own accord.

Jamali said the country was mired in issues which could only be resolved through joint effort of all political forces.
