ISLAMABAD, May 25: The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has unanimously elected office-bearers of the Pakistan Women Athletics Association (PWAA).

PML-N Senator Nuzhat Sadiq has been elected as PWAA chairperson while Shahida Khanam and international athlete Sadaf Siddiqi have been elected as secretary and associate secretary, respectively for four-year term.

The office-bearers were elected during the general council meeting of the AFP held at the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad with AFP president Major Gen retired Akram Sahi in chair.

A statement issued by the AFP said that the house reviewed the policy about promotion of women athletics in the country.

Meanwhile, AFP president hoped that the newly-elected body will play vital role in promoting women athletics at the grass roots level.
