LAHORE: Newly-elected MPAs of the Punjab Assembly took oath of office on Saturday during a session of the house presided by outgoing speaker Rana Iqbal.

Today's session of the Punjab Assembly was the 16th session of the house where Iqbal administered the oath to MPAs-elect.

The assembly’s speaker and deputy speaker would be elected in the second session of the house expected to be held on Monday.

Moreover, Shahbaz Sharif, PML-N’s nominee for the chief minister’s position, is likely to take oath for the slot on June 6.
