PARACHINAR, June 7: Two militants were killed and five injured, while four security personnel suffered injuries during clashes in Para Chamkani area of the central Kurram Agency on Friday.

Local officials said the clash occurred when security forces came under attack during a search operation meant to flush out militants from the area.

They said security forces retaliated and killed two militants and injured five.

The officials said four security officials were also injured in the clash. An operation against militants has been underway in the central Kurram Agency since May 8 when an election rally was bombed.

According to an official, at least 200 militants have been killed in the operation, while 10,000 families have been displaced from the area due to it.
