MARDAN, July 4: Two sisters were killed here on Thursday when the fiancé of one of the girls along with his brother and an unknown accomplice barged into their house and opened fire.

Officials of Saddar police station quoted Fazal Malik, father of the slain girls identified as Sawera and Feroza, as saying that his daughter Sawera was engaged with his nephew Javed a few months ago.

He said both the families developed differences over the education of Sewara, who was studying in class eighth. He told Saddar police that the accused, Javed, his brother Islam Gul and their unknown accomplice barged into their home in broad daylight and opened indiscriminate fire killing his daughter Feroza on the spot while leaving Sawera with critical bullet injuries.

Sawera later succumbed to her injuries when the personnel of Recue-1122 were shifting her to a nearby health facility. The police have lodged an FIR.—Correspondent
