KARACHI, July 11: The board of directors of PIA announced on Thursday abolishing with immediate effect the privileges enjoyed by its present and former members.

This was decided by the board at a meeting presided over by PIA chairman and CEO Aslam Khaliq and attended by managing director Junaid Yunus, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Aviation Shujaat Azeem and board members Mian Mansha, Arif Habib, Naseer Jafer, Nazir Ahmed, Yousaf Waqar, Mohammad Ali Gardezi, Dr Waqar Masood and Sarfraz A. Rehman.

Mr Khaliq said he would serve the PIA without taking any emoluments. Besides, the board proposed abolishing free travel facility, both domestic and international, currently available to its members.
