LAHORE, July 19: A judicial magistrate of Cantonment courts on Friday granted post-arrest bail to the son of PML-N MPA Tahir Sindhu.

North Cantonment police had on Thursday night arrested Sheharyar for slapping a policeman and tearing his uniform at a check post outside the Fortress Stadium.

Constable Kashif had stopped a car driven by Sheharyar and asked him for checking. However, the young man showed resistance and got into an argument with the constable. He slapped the cop and tore his uniform.

Other security personnel deployed at the check post intervened in the situation and arrested Sheharyar. The police registered a case against him on different charges, including extending life threats to a policeman.

On Friday morning, the police produced the accused before the magisterial court under strict security but without handcuffed. The magistrate released him on bail against furnishing bail bonds of Rs20,000.
