KARACHI: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Thursday defused a remote-controlled bomb recovered from the Jamia Binoria seminary in Karachi's Site area, DawnNews reported.
A chit of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan was attached with the bomb which claimed that the bomb was a gift from the proscribed organisation.
Police sources said that cut screws were used in the making of the bomb which weighed 500 grams and that the remote-controlled bomb appeared to have been manufactured by a professional.
Sources added that large scale devastation would have taken place if the bomb had exploded.
Samples of the explosive material were sent to a lab for further testing.

I am confused...Aren't both Jamia Binoria and the TTP both adherents of the Deobandi school of thought. What is the reason for the latest schism between these two. Why is the TTP trying to attack Jamia Binoria?

& why would one put a chit on a bomb that he wanted to blow up? If it was to truely blow up, what was the point of putting a chit on it?

Those who blame the Deobandi mindset for all the violence going on in Pakistan must have a look at this incident. Jamia Banoria is a purely Deobandi organization but with no ties with the proscribed organizations which have even started targeting religious seminaries now. I do agree that most of the terrorism comes from the Wahabi, Salafi and Deobandi mindset, but this does not mean that the above mentioned school of thoughts are all indulged in terrorist activities.
We need to discreminate, and discremninate efficiently to reach the roots.
