SSP, two army officers killed in Chilas firing incident

CHILAS: Three people, including a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Diamer and two army officers, were killed on Tuesday as their convoy came under attack in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chilas area.

According to DawnNews, unknown gunmen opened fire on a government convoy in Chilas, killing SSP Diamer Muhammad Hilal and two army officers Colonel Ghulam Mustafa and Captain Ashfaq Aziz on the spot.

Moreover, three officials were reported severely injured in the attack.

Later, a heavy contingent of police headed by Inspector General (IG) arrived at the scene to inspect the Diamer district and apprehend the culprits.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister Mehdi Shah strongly condemned the incident, terming it an act of terror. He directed authorities to launch immediate investigations into the incident.

There must be hundreds of thousands of investigations pending with different authorities in different cities of Pakistan. Does the country have any system, mechanism or skilled manpower or for that matter any of the resources required to carry out even a single proper investigation.

These officers were on their way to attend a meeting with Deputy Commissioner. Some one among the ranks, leaked this information. Killers were waiting in ambush. Culprit / accomplice is a co worker. Why a big contingent under the leadership of IG arrived at the scene. Were the killers still sitting around there? All what is needed is some sharp skilled investigation to find out who leaked the information. That should be a good enough lead to get to the killers.

informations about their travel is leaked out from their headquarters,mob phone is not a necessity it is brutal weapon for terrorism for that reason introduced so fast with everybody so security of each second is leaked out. clean own sleeves too much of snakes rest in.

SSP Hilal khan was one of the most refined & the most competent officers of Police service of Pakistan . May his & the other brave men's soul rest in heavens , and may the confused nation of ours get to know that we are at war with extremism & mullaism and we have to fight this war to defends the liberties of our brothers, sisters & children. May we get atleast enough courage to support those who are risking their lives to protect us .

What a sad news! Against the advice of my friends, I have passed through Chilas area twice this year. I thought that terrorism is a thing of the past in that area. I like Karim Abad, Hunza valley. From Rawalpindi, one has to go through Chilas area in order to reach Karim Abad. Now this latest incident of terror has made me worried about my future visits to Karim Abad. One wonders, when Pakistani people will learn to settle their disputes peacefully. God have mercy on all of us.
