PM wants counter-terrorism strategy draft by Aug 13

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday discussed the law and order situation in the country with Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan with special emphasis on the terrorist attacks in Quetta in which top police officials and scores of others lost their lives.
He directed the interior minister to present the final draft of a counter-terrorism strategy on August 13, in light of earlier discussions and consultations on the subject.
The prime minister condemned the killing of innocent people and expressed his deep sorrow and grief.
Sharif saluted the courage of law enforcement agencies across the country and asked the interior minister to ensure that all possible help is extended to the families of the deceased and injured.
He expressing his resolve to fight the enemies of people of Pakistan.
Sharif also paid tributes to the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
He said their blood would not go in vain, and that the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice at all costs.

...another generic statement, empty words, cowards, nothing will be done just "recycled" words used over and over..... oh yes they forgot to include the "foreign hand" clause maybe they will use it for the next bombing statement so alternate ..

All Pakistan has been doing is talk, and drafting strategy. enough of this nonsense. it is time for action. PM and his government politicians must stand united behind the country's Armed Forces to give a death blow to the terrorists & fanatics using Islam to kill fellow Muslims.

Eyewash. A strategy in 6 days. Strategies on a national and such a complicated issue does simply not come from such deadlines. At best there will be a document. We want to see a process involving all stakeholders, all the arms of intelligence and military as well as police. We want to see all political parties to fully back the policy. In this regard why is there no meeting between COAS, PM, CM of KPK and Imran khan as the latter demands? Imran is most vocal against war against terror and a major obstacle to a political consensus. If he offers to change his views if the govt takes him into confidence, what is the delay then in this meeting?

What are they waiting for now the nation is ready, go after Taliban, go after BLA, go after anybody that promote sectarian violence either done by Shia or Sunnis organizations, go after Bhata Khors in Karachi, go after ransom collectors, locate and fight all the killers this time no mercy. Islam is the religion of peace may be give one last chance to everybody to come clean with deadline and after that start the operations at all level and destroy anybody that promotes and deal with violence till the very end. . Enough is enough Pakistan is Islamic country and now we have to justice and even the score with the murders. It only take few good example before forces of evil will leave Pakistan for good.

If you have will and courage please catch few of them first and do fast court trial and hang them in public that will be your fast counter-terrorism strategy. We Pakistanis are fed up with you government for not doing any thing.

What about the daily terrorism and loss of innocent lives. What are you doing to save those. Strategy is good for the long haul but we must take a bold and stern action to address the menace of domestic terrorism. Pakistan can not wait and can afford to loose any more innocent lives.

I am a law enforcer.
At my lowest morale.
If I make a mistake in identifying a terrorit either I am a murderer or will get myself targeted.
Noone will take care of my family except an annoucement. to help.
I am not a martyr because this is not our war, and law enforcers are not entitled Shahadat !!!
I will not be a national hero !!!
My pay only few thds :: Even a hawker earns better

PML-N had 5-years to evolve a strategy, all they wanted is dialogue with the killers.
Now, he wants a strategy in less than a week - all of a sudden the Taliban are extremists, are not misguided brothers. All of a sudden he sees a problem.
Guess the people deserve him. They are no different.

For a change PM Nawaz Sharif has not used the usual phrase of foreign hand in these barbaric attacks on innocent Pakistanis. I hope this is a positive change from usual stand of blaming such things on outside elements and put the matter under the carpet.This suggests that he has realised that terrorism in Pakistan is home grown problem. I hope this realisation of truth shall lead to positive steps to fight terrorism.
