RAJOURI: An Indian general warned Pakistan on Sunday that it was making a “serious mistake” and said a “befitting reply” would be given with “full force” at a time and place of India’s choosing.
“You (Pakistan) are making a serious mistake (with regard to ceasefire violations and BAT attacks) — do not do it,” General Officer Commanding Major General V.P. Singh told reporters in Rajouri, India-held Kashmir.
He was replying to a volley of questions about what strong message he wanted to convey to Pakistan with regard to alleged ceasefire violations and what India had described as “border action team” (BAT) attacks on Indian posts along the Line of Control in Poonch.
According to Indian officials, BAT is a mix of “Pakistani special forces personnel and terrorists” who carry out attacks on Indian targets.
“What you are putting across, it is not going to affect, deter us or weaken our resolve,” General Singh said.
Regarding the Indian army’s strategy in the wake of the alleged BAT attacks, Gen Singh said: “As far as BAT action is concerned, we are absolutely aware what kind of response it (Pakistan) is going to get — that response will be delivered.”

Well said, General. Every cross-border attack in Indian territory will receive an equal reaction. Don't try playing with fire, Pakistan. You will get burnt. Put your own house in order before trying such stunts. No one across the border means you harm ... but if you cross the border and attack Indian posts, you will have to pay the price. Your choice.

At this point, a General from Pakistan should rise up and respond to verbal threat from the Indian general since Pakistan has always refuted to such allegations put up by India.
Being a Pakistani I solemnly believe that the allegations on Pakistan are silly and a lie. I am pretty sure, India can not dare to initiate a war against Pakistan; this provocation means something else.

I don't thing he can be serious with such allegations or threat, Calm down general, no action will be limited and in my opinion neither India nor Pakistan can & will afford any adventures with the guns. Let the politicians talk it out.

Such reckless and loose talks are not helpful at all. Generals from both side of the divide have to fully understand that ground realities have changed and are constantly changing each day. It is also reckless specially when both the civilian governments of India & Pakistan are trying to reach a peaceful agreement and normalization.

we both Indians and Pakistanis should together fight for removing poverty, unemployment, many of us dying lack of money for T/t of deadly diseases also we both together play important role for the peace and prosperity, so that our coming generation will be free from poverty, unemployment, and diseases. western countries like America never wants us to remain together.No religion in this world wheather islam or hindu taught us about that we hate each other. plz understand this.

There are a lot of internal issues with india, which are getting out of her hands. There are 20 separatist/independance movements then creation of talangana state, uncontrolled women rapes and above all weakening economy. All these have prompted india to sing old song of hue and cry.

These cross border incidents show that the real masters in Pakistan ie the Military are not ready for peace with India. Peace is not good for the military as that means diversion of money from them to useless pursuits like infrastructure, education, healthcare and poverty eradication.
It reminds me of a comment I read recently "Most countries have a military, in Pakistan the military has a country". Incidents like this will continue till the "cat is bell'd", and that my friends is the dilemma that Pakistan faces.
