Earthquake shocks felt in Punjab

LAHORE: Tremors were felt in different parts of Punjab on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

Najeeb Ahmed, Deputy Director (DD) at Pakistan Meteorological Department's Head Office, says the earthquake was approximately 4.6 on a Richter scale.

Lahore, Gujranwala, Chiniot, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Bahawalnagar and other parts were recipients of the tremors, which were about 20 to 30 seconds apart.

Buildings were quickly evacuated as fear and panic gripped the people, who ran out of their homes in fear.

So far, no casualties have been reported.

According to news reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Indian Punjab Province.
