KARACHI: Senator Babar Ghori of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement sent lunch for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday, including some high-calorie dishes, before the premier chaired an important meeting of the federal cabinet at the Governor House.

“Yes I sent him nihari, haleem and other dishes for lunch,” said Mr Ghori, who is known for having invited top politicians, including former prime ministers Shaukat Aziz and Yousuf Raza Gilani, to his palatial house for haleem parties.

He said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had thanked him.

On Tuesday, the MQM had criticised the government for cancelling an invitation to Dr Farooq Sattar to attend the cabinet meeting.
