Targeted operations: 30 arrested from different Karachi areas

KARACHI: Police and Rangers personnel have arrested at least 30 suspects after conducting targeted operations on Thursday in different parts of Karachi.

Targeted search operations were carried out in different areas including Naseerabad, Pipri, Ghafur Basti, Mehran Town, Daud Goth,Sarjani Town, New Karachi, Bilal Colony, Gharibabad, Seaview, and Garden.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, a large number of weapons were confiscated during the raids. He claimed that the arrested suspects were affiliated with different political groups and some were also involved in the ongoing ‘gang war’ in Lyari.

Meanwhile, a special Police team of the SSP Central raided a political party’s office in North Nazimabad from where they also claim to have confiscated arms and ammunition during the raid.

Police said they have registered a case against a local office bearer of the party for illegal possession of weapons.
