LAHORE, Sept 21: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will put up the proof of rigging committed in the May elections before the people in a few days, says PPP Secretary-General Sardar Latif Khosa.

“We have collected proof and will bring it before the people shortly,” he said at a function to mark the 25th birthday of PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at his residence here on Saturday.

Mr Khosa said had the Supreme Court’s decision on the Asghar Khan case been implemented, both Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif would have got severe punishment for taking money from the agencies (to stop the PPP from coming to power in 1990).

He said Bilawal had become eligible for electoral politics and he would complete the mission of his mother Benazir Bhutto. The PPP would make him party chairman, he said.

Senator Aitezaz Ahsan said the May 11 elections were rigged to keep the PPP out of power. He said party workers were ignored in the PPP government and now they had right to make the leadership accountable. He said the PPP head only accepted the results as it did not want derailment of democracy.

Manzoor Wattoo, Naveed Chaudhry, Aslam Gill and Shaukat Basra also spoke.

Mr Khosa said Bilawal wanted to address the workers through a video-link from Dubai but he was not feeling well.
