Karachi operation: more than 90 suspects arrested

KARACHI: Police and other security forces arrested more than 90 suspects during a targeted operation in different areas of Karachi in the early hours of Friday.

A targeted operation was conducted in different areas of Orangi Town on Thursday night, and police arrested 80 suspects. Weapons and drugs were also confiscated from those arrested. A heavy infiltration of police forces took part in the operation.

Meanwhile, Clifton Police arrested 12 suspects by conducting a targeted operation in Defence View area. A wanted suspect was also among those arrested.

According to a senior police officer, the operation was undertaken due to a tip off regarding the presence of criminals in the area.

In other related news, the body found in a house in Defence Phase V earlier this month has been identified as Muhammad Yusuf.

According to SHO Darakshan Zawar Hussain, Yusuf was a retired Naval Master Chief Petty Officer. He stated that Yusuf had been killed by being hit over the head by an iron rod.

Initial investigation reports stated the reason for the murder as old enmity.
