Karachi operation: more than 90 suspects arrested

KARACHI: Police and other security forces arrested more than 90 suspects during a targeted operation in different areas of Karachi in the early hours of Friday.

A targeted operation was conducted in different areas of Orangi Town on Thursday night, and police arrested 80 suspects. Weapons and drugs were also confiscated from those arrested. A heavy infiltration of police forces took part in the operation.

Meanwhile, Clifton Police arrested 12 suspects by conducting a targeted operation in Defence View area. A wanted suspect was also among those arrested.

According to a senior police officer, the operation was undertaken due to a tip off regarding the presence of criminals in the area.

In other related news, the body found in a house in Defence Phase V earlier this month has been identified as Muhammad Yusuf.

According to SHO Darakshan Zawar Hussain, Yusuf was a retired Naval Master Chief Petty Officer. He stated that Yusuf had been killed by being hit over the head by an iron rod.

Initial investigation reports stated the reason for the murder as old enmity.

So far the police has arrested hundreds of suspects and keep arresting suspected terrorists, mafia members, gangsters, murderers, rapists etc. on a daily basis. So what is next? When these suspects will be charged? When they will be brought to justice? What I think, eventually all these suspected people will be released as they belong to big political parties and police mafia. The only day we will see a real action when our leaders' own sons will be killed on city streets like dogs and their daughters will be raped, killed and dumped somewhere in garbage, this is when they will decide to take action against these suspects; or may be not. May Allah have mercy on all of us and protect our nation from these monsters. AMEEN.
