KARACHI, Oct 1: Pakistan’s Shafiq Masih made a sterling start on the opening day of the MENA Golf Tours by carding a four-under-par 68 in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Defending champion Shafiq made good use of his knowledge to shoot a solid score and join Zane Scotland and Greg Nicolson in second place, one shot ahead of Tommy Mou.

Duncan Stewart matched the course record with a six-under 66 to take a healthy two-shot lead after round one as Morocco’s ace amateur Mustapha El Maouas led the region’s challenge with a solid 71.—APP
