LAHORE, Oct 5: Pakistan defeated India 13-11 to qualify for the final round of the Asian U-19 Rugby Championship at the Punjab Stadium here on Saturday.

The final round will be held in Hong Kong next year.

The first-half ended with the teams level at 8-8 but Daniyal scored two tries with India earning just one as Pakistan secured victory.

Indian captain M Sharma said: “We’re disappointed for not winning the event but we leave impressed by the hospitality of the people in Lahore.”

Afghanistan and Uzbekistan were the two other teams. While Afghanistan lost their first match to Pakistan to exit the competition, Uzbekistan did not arrive to play.
