KARACHI: Rangers and police personnel Tuesday arrested more than 100 suspects during targeted operations in different parts of Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Rangers' personnel carried out targeted operations in the areas of Bhittai Colony, Madhu Goth, Khadda Market, Baldia Town, North Nazimabad, Orangi Town, Malir and Landhi, etc.

Security forces' personnel arrested target killers involved in gang wars, with links to political parties, along with 29 other suspects involved in various crimes. Security men moreover recovered weapons from the suspects during the raids.

Meanwhile, the city's Maripur police also arrested three suspects involved in killing more than 50 people.

Separately, the city's West and South Zone police arrested 90 suspects, including 24 fugitives, in the past 24 hours. They also seized weapons and drugs from the arrested persons.

Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
